AUMT Institute
The AUMT Institute – the Phlebotomy School, offers a California Department of Public Health phlebotomy 1 certified course. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to complete the national examination in the path to become a certified phlebotomist. This is an 88 hour program, with 48 hours of lecture time and 40 hours of clinical experience. Students will have the opportunity to complete 50 venipunctures, 10 capillary punctures, and observation of two arterial punctures. Students will learn about the various degrees of complicated blood draws and proper blood collection techniques. Students will work with laboratory equipment and laboratory testing procedures.
