Class participants will work with mannequins as well as live draw scenarios. The program is 10 weeks long. Completion of the program does allow for students to be eligible to seek national certification. However, this program does not provide placement or externship opportunities.

Blue Heron Academy offers a phlebotomy technician program within its healthcare career learning center course options. Located in Grand Rapids, the academy offers a 2 month technician course that boasts low cost options as well as flexible class times. Students will learn about all aspects of phlebotomy, including basic anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, infection control procedures and best practices in laboratory safety.
