The Georgia Clinical & Translational Science Alliance (GCRC) offers the Phlebotomy 101 training program, a two-day introductory course that covers venipuncture techniques. Unfortunately, they do not accept pediatric research professionals.

To register, participants need to complete several requirements and steps. Emory University employees must first be credentialed with Emory Healthcare before enrolling in the Phlebotomy course. Phlebotomy Training Specialists offers the fastest accelerated phlebotomy program in the Atlanta area consisting of only 48 hours of in-class training. All students are eligible to challenge the National Exam on the last day of class. Successfully passing this exam certifies students to work as Phlebotomists anywhere in the country, with the exception of four states: California, Nevada, Louisiana, and Washington, which have additional licensing requirements.

PTS has a unique “Student for Life” policy. After completing the course, students are welcomed back into the classroom at any time (subject to class availability) to refresh their skills, review course materials, and gain additional experience through blood draws.
