Fresh Start Technical School

Fresh Start Technical School has a Phlebotomy Technician Program designed for students looking to become a certified phlebotomist. This course has a 100 hour format which is completed within a 7 week time frame. Courses are available to take both daytime and evening courses and there is also a 13 week Saturday only option. The curriculum will cover proper blood procedures, including both capillary puncture as well as venipuncture. Students will also learn about infection control practices. The program gives students 40 venipuncture and 10 capillary puncture practice sessions. Students will be eligible to take the National Certification Examination to earn a phlebotomist certification.

Connecticut State Community College, Tunxis’ Phlebotomy Technician Program provides students the chance to become certified as a phlebotomist.
